Dyframix is a two man outfit hailing from the north of England. Drawing on years of experience in playing, teaching and sharing the didgeridoo, Nick Burman performs alongside the skills of multi-instrumentalist Stef M.

Dyframix - about the band

In the winter of 2003 Nick Burman met Stef.M on the North-East coast of Yorkshire U.K. They formed a friendship over their mutual love of all things didgeridoo and proceeded to start an experiment to create a home produced album of quality music based on the rhythms and sounds of this most ancient of instruments. By encompassing these natural rhythms with a few string instruments and a selection of digital beats they created the album "Didgeridance" and in 2005 took it on a small tour of digeridoo events and festivals. After a great response and a few cold months in the studio by the North sea, Nick and Stefan became "Dyframix" and in 2006 set about building a live version of this sound to take on the road.

Since forming they have toured the U.K. appearing at many events and festivals including Knockengorroch, Workhouse, Solfest, Leamingon Peace fair and Eastern Haze to name a few. They have performed live on BBC radio, had music featured on the cover dvd of Future Music magazine and tracks from their 2006 and 2007 sets have been used on several compilation albums. So far Dyframix have written, recorded and produced three cd's: Orange, Green and Purple each having five tracks and a different mood. Dyframix are actively seeking a record contract and publishing deal as they plan to release their first album in 2009. Currently you will find them back in the studio working on new tracks and rehearsing thier accoustic set in preperation for this summer, when they will be concentrating on street performances and a few selected festivals.

Both Nick and Stefan are commited to raising awarness of the Aboriginal people, their culture, their suffering, their messages of world understanding and of course the much ignored instrument the didgeridoo or yidaki.

They hope that through their music they can help these ancient tribes regain the rights, the land and the culture which has sustained them for 50,000 years or more.

Dyframix - the music
